"Pictures Magazine began with a passion for childhood--beautiful clothing, toys, books and especially photography--everything that is a part of creating and remembering happy childhood memories. It was our desire to create a resource for parents where they could stop for a moment and enjoy childhood, their children's as well as memories of their own. The summer 2006 issue was launched as a pilot. We were quite surprised at the response we received--everywhere from child-related company representatives such as Pottery Barn Kids to freelance writers to photographers to parents--they were all very positive. We learned that the need we perceived for a specialized childhood resource featuring beautiful photography was shared by many individuals from across the country. The fall issue was an even bigger success in terms of number of visitors, articles, the gradually growing national photographer listing, and the amount of positive feedback."
