I hope that everyone is thawing out! I made it home from San Antonio before the ice hit. My family and I have been sticking close to home today. It never did get much above freezing here today (east of Conroe, Texas). Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer, and the girls and I are headed to lunch with my mom tomorrow in Old Town Spring, one of our favorite places!
I've been doing a little updating on my website. I added a new page called "Ages & Stages". It talks about the importance of photographing a baby's first year of life. From the newborn to toddler stages, I talk about what I look for during the various stages and show examples.
Although I photograph everything from babies to weddings in my business, I do specialize in Baby's First Year portraits, so this page gives a lot of fun examples of that.
Check it out -- Ages & Stages.

Greetings from the PPA Convention!
Hello!
I'm writing this from the Professional Photographers of America's national convention in San Antonio. How lucky for me that it is so close to home this year! I'm so excited to get to spend time with thousands of other pro photographers learning new skills and sharing ideas! I hope to get new ideas to share with my clients in the coming year.
I want to share another note that I received from a recent bride, Adeli, aka the new Mrs. Cardenas!
The pictures are incredibly beautiful! I cannot stop looking at them! You definitely captured the tender moments. I will make sure to refer you to all my friends and collegues. I have been showing off my pictures here at work so you should be getting more business soon. A million thanks Deb!!!! I cried and laughed!!! Thank you for making it so special for us! :)
Thank you Adeli. It means so much to me when my clients take the time to share how their images make them feel! I do this job because I LOVE it. And, clients like this are one of the reasons I love it so much! I will share some images from Adeli's wedding when I get back to my office next week.
I'll check back in after the big convention!

Cute little cousins!
I photographed Miss Dylan Elise's newborn portraits just a few months ago. So, when I photographed her new cousin Zara's newborn portraits, we had to get the two little cuties together!
Last Baby of 2006
Well, this little one was a bit of a surprise!
I was already booked to photograph this multi-generational Family Reunion Portrait Session the day after Christmas. At the time, this baby wasn't due until January! But, apparently, he wanted to make sure he was included in the family portrait, because he showed up early! After we did the regular family stuff, I was happy to photograph his first baby portraits!
How sweet can you get??

Album Showcase online
I found a really cool software program that publishes album pages onto a web slide show. I've been playing around with it, and published a couple of my favorite albums onto my website.
Check it out and let me know how you like it! These albums were published as book-bound, storybooks, but they look pretty good online, too!

Sweet Note!
I was happy to receive a really sweet note right before Christmas from one of my October brides, Jesse Baust. Here's what she wrote:
Hey Deb, I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for the beautiful photos you took of my wedding and reception - They were absolutely perfect, I couldn't have asked for a more accurate and beautiful portrayal of one of the biggest moments in our lives. We have all of these fantastic pictures and I hardly remember seeing you - very precise and quiet work, its nice to have someone who is not a complete busybody taking over the scene. These are pictures Kevin and I will cherish forever, as you truly captured the very sincere, happy, and emotional moments from that night that go beyond simply posing for the camera- you caught the rare moments of real smiles. Anyone who chooses your services will be well rewarded by the exemplary quality of the work, and your prices are great too! THANK YOU THANK YOU !!! – Jesse and Kevin Baust
Here are my favorite images from Jesse and Kevin's wedding -

Thanks guys!! Have a wonderful new, married year!

One of my favorite little people...
I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing one of my favorite little people just before Christmas! I first photographed Miss Becca when she was just a few months old. Now, she's almost two, and I've photographed her several times in between. Here are a few of my favorites from her Christmas session.

Happy 2007!
Happy New Year!
2006 was a record year for Deb Evans Photography! Thank you so much to all of my friends, clients, and family who helped make it such a success! I'm looking forward to seeing all of you, as well as new faces in 2007!
I will be sharing some of my favorite images, as well as some personal notes in this blog. Please check back regularly to see what is new at Deb Evans Photography!
For those of you who don't know me, I am a portrait and wedding photographer in Conroe, Texas. I am also the mother of Kayla & Kristin, who are growing up WAY too fast! We have an "official" photo shoot twice a year, although the girls welcome any chance to get in front of the camera!
