Galveston with my Girls!

Kayla and Kristin were a huge help this fall - they were my official "preschool wranglers" on six preschool shoots, plus they helped with packaging orders, and anything else I asked of them! They really worked hard! So, to reward them, we snuck away last month for a mini vacation in Galveston. (And, the weather was awesome!) Since they're little Super Models at heart, you know they wanted to pose for some awesome beach portraits!

Fun Family Portraits

Y'know that classic family portrait, where everyone is perfectly arranged - mom's hand is resting delicately on dad's shoulder, the kids are perfectly poised with perfect smiles, heads are tilted "just so" - a perfect moment, frozen in time?? Well, we don't really do that...

What we do is capture your REAL family - the fun, the love... a perfect moment captured forever! Here are some of my favorite family portraits from this fall.

44 Years and Still in Love!

My hubby and I have been married 15 years. Pretty impressive, but I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. & Mrs. Gilliam recently. They've been married 44 years and are still madly in love!
Mrs. G. emailed me a month or so ago and said "My husband and I have not had our pictures professionally done in years and years.....and years. Our families have fussed at us for a long time to get one done, and we've decided to go ahead and do it and give these portraits as Christmas gifts. Our reluctance to get one done is that so many photos of older folks look rigid and stiff and in some we have seen, the couple even look very uncomfortable! Your photography is incredible. From looking at your work, I am in hopes that you can create something that will be nice, relaxed and fun." Now that's a challenge I love!

I have to say that it was pretty easy, because they're a fun couple! I thoroughly enjoyed the session! Here's what Mrs. G. said after she saw the images: "You are in the right business for sure. Love 'em all. I don't know if Jerry or I ever have any pictures of either of us where it looks like we are actually having fun, and I thank you for that."

Their grandsons came along for moral support!

Thanks Mrs. G!

My husband had a heart attack Saturday and is in ICU in The Woodlands. I'd appreciate your prayers for my family. Thank you.

New Ad!

We're so excited to be advertising in The Kids' Directory! This wonderful, free resource is available throughout the Houston area. Be sure to pick up a copy!

Happy BDay to Me!

"Anything you want..." that's what my sweet hubby said to me before my birthday. Famous last words! My husband enjoys having his picture taken just about as much as most of your husbands, so I took advantage!

"ALL I want is for you to let me photograph you with the girls," I said. (The last portraits of the 3 of them together were about 4 years ago!) Woohoo! He went for it - even took me to dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse first! He also let me get some quick shots of him alone, and the girls snapped a few of us together. What a wonderful birthday!

My cowboy! I'm a lucky lady!

Portrait Contest Winners!!!

I am WAY behind on updating the blog! We have been going non-stop photographing lots of adorable preschoolers this month, as well as my regular, portrait clients! But, I wanted to give a quick update about our recent Portrait Contest ( http://debevans.blogspot.com/2007/08/charity-portrait-contest.html )

I am happy to announce that future heartbreaker, Dash Thurmond, is our GRAND PRIZE WINNER with over 100 votes! (Momma got the word out - LOL!) How precious is he!? Dash's Mommy wins a $100 Gift Certificate towards her next portrait session!

Our 2nd prize winner is Miss Personality, Gianna Raymond. And rounding out the top 3 is cutie-pie Carter Caldwell! Both win a $50 Gift Certificate towards their next portrait session!

Of course, the best part is that we raised $275 for Heroes for Children! Thank you to everybody who supported this contest in memory of Walker Woolery.

What a tiny, sweet angel. She was so good and patient - a real doll to photograph.
